Good Morning, We are currently working on Safeguarding disclosures for CYP who do not have a voice or have communication difficulties. We are developing resources and guidance for schools to use, when a CYP attempts to make a disclosure, but may not have a voice, be able to sign appropriately, or be able to explain what is happening. I was wondering if any other Services have developed ideas we could share?

I asked around our colleagues in the hearing support team, who suggested liaising with the local SALT team regarding adding buttons to PECS on an IPAD in case pupils want to discuss a safeguarding issue.
Might be worth looking into

Hello Rob, Yes thank-you, the HL/VI and C&I (communication and interaction) Teams are on the group with us. We are developing various tools which will hopefully begin to give CYP a voice in this area. All very difficult though as some companies are finding it difficult to release symbols for this area, due to issues having the symbols for such explicit topics, in the general public. Lots of work to do. thank-you.
