L2 Training: Supporting Learners with Physical Disability

Who is the training for?

These online training units are designed to provide support staff with the level of understanding required to support learners with physical disability in mainstream or special education. Level 2 training builds on the knowledge developed in Level 1 training, so it is suggested that this is completed prior to starting the Level 2 units.

What does the training involve?

The training comprises of 8 individual units. These units will develop knowledge and understanding of the most common physical disabilities and covers the concepts, principles and core skills needed to provide effective support. The units provide activities and opportunities for reflection which support participants to apply their knowledge in the form of workbook activities and a case study.

In addition, you will find example pupil profiles. These detail good practice for including and supporting learners with physical disability.
