We have held a disabled children's sports day at Kennet School for almost 40 years. This involves children from primary and secondary schools. While this has previously only been our local schools, I am widening participation to expand the range of children who can enjoy this wonderfully inclusive, supportive and competitive day.
This year, the 39th Kennet Games is held on Saturday 27th April.
The day is suited to a wide range of competitors and includes:
In the morning:
Boccia, skittles, table skittles, beanbag throw, basketball shoot, velcro target, floor darts, wall darts, quadra throw, rolla-ball, shotput, javelin
In the afternoon:
Inclusive Zone Basketball, UniHoc, and then races including obstacle course, electric wheelchair slalom, manual wheelchair slalom, electric wheelchair dash and manual wheelchair dash.
The event is at Kennet School in Thatcham, Berkshire, where we have a Physical Disability Resource. There are, of course, adapted toilets, including two with ceiling mounted hoists. Competitors and their support teams are welcome to bring their own food or buy from our barbecue which serves burgers and bacon rolls.
Entry is via the form at:

Please feel free to pass this on to any organisation or individual you feel would be interested.
