Hi

Does anyone have any resources/ideas they can share for taking an assembly on accepting others' differences etc.? one of my schools has asked because one of the students I support has received some unkind comments from other students re. her disability.

thanks

Carol

Hi Carol I’d be suggesting to school that they think about different role models they invite across their assembly programme; many schools will have this as an action related to their Equality duties.  In relation to disability specifically, if there are not ex-pupils they can invite in or adults from the local community, you could suggest a clip from the pdnet level 1 training.

I was going to post a similar question, and ask if anyone had any ideas for guests you can book to speak in an assembly (no idea how much this costs!) I know we have had some brilliant motivational speakers at the PDNet conferences... could anyone drop any names for me please? thank you

Thanks Jane, I did suggest outside /motivational speakers. that's a good idea about the level 1 training clip though.

I hope you get some responses to your question Lucy, I think some sort of list/contact details here in resources would be great to have.

Is there a reason why my comment from March 9th hasn't been approved?
