We have two children moving from part time nursery to full time reception in September who will need to have a sleep during the day/afternoon due to fatigue. This is something that we have not had experience of before in school. Any advice, sign posting or experiences that others have had of how to manage this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Liz It would be helpful to know the reason for the fatigue. I’ve known a couple of instances where the need for a sleep was health related, children with continuing care funding, where health has funded or contributed to the cost of equipment and staffing.

Hi Jane, thank you for your response. One child is due to fatigue due to health and the other child is due to irregulated sleep patterns.
Both children have recently received EHCPs so there is funding allocated for staffing and resources. I know that I need to prepare a risk assessment for each of the children but wanted to make sure that I cover everything in the risk assessment.
