Hi All,

I am one of the PNI Specialist Teachers in Essex. As part of my role I am looking into programs and Apps to support learning across the curriculum, so that pupils can be as independent as possible in their learning and recording.

So far I have the following, but I would love any ideas from the forum members regarding the other areas.

English: Clicker, Widgit On-line, Communicate in Print, Docs+, Word, PowerPoint, Snap Type Pro.

Maths: Spash!City Maths, Excel, Panther Math Paper App

Science:  Spash!City Maths

MFL

History

Geography

Religion Politics and Ethics

Art: Wacom with Adobe creative

Technology subjects: CAD drawing

media:

photography

music: Chiranga, O-Generator

drama: Docs+ Word, PowerPoint

PE

I am mainly interested in those which can support KS3 and 4 at present.

Thanks in advance,

Catherine

Hi have you used the pre made grids section of Clicker online as there are grids for all curriculum areas.

My school use Lexia literacy programme which I have pupil access via eye gaze and joystick.

Boardmaker online can also be used to create resources for many curriculum areas as the vocabulary range is vast.

Hope some of this is useful.

Hi,

We also use Boardmaker online a lot . It helps when using consistent vocabulary, matching and sequencing. It has great resources and the pictures can be used as an aid to learning to read and for students who may need symbols  to communicate their want, needs and to choices. We also use switch accessible games on Helpkidzlearn and Choose it maker, Jigsaw maker and similar apps to this.

In PE we have just started to use the Hudl app so students  can compare each week/lesson and reflect on their learning. It is a great resource for video work and can be slowed down to review where more support may be needed and where there are improvements.

Just by sharing apps on here it could make a huge difference to our students so I would also be very interested in what other professionals use.

Most of my students are at switch level with many medical and physical needs but they still manage to have a little independence when using the choosing apps.

Hi,

I agree with the ones you have.

For Panther's Math Paper, I struggled to find instructional videos as the developer uses his disabled son to demonstrate but not instruct! I have found 3 which I've tried to share but the post has been rejected by this website.

This is a try, try, try again attempt, without the YouTube links!

FYI I’ve created a list of useful all age software, apps and websites which I’m happy to share if you.

I’m reluctant to upload it to Resources as it’s dynamic, needs frequent updating and prices may not be accurate.
