Hi, I'm looking for some advice for a year 9 student with achondroplasia, they would like to study Design Technology at GCSE. Some of the equipment such as sanders and drills, which are fixed to the floor, are not accessible as they are too high. We have looked at a few options, however due to the emergency stop button being located at floor level, we keep hitting a barrier. Thanks

There are groups of retired engineering types who will do this sort of adaptive work.
Mens shed, etc . They might be able to help

It should be possible to put a second emergency cut off in the same circuit.

Remap (www.remap.org.uk ) is a charity which designs and make equipment for people with disabilities, free of charge they would help in a case like this. Go to the website to make contact with the local panel.
