The Department for Education (DfE) is making the subjects of Relationships Education in primary, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) in secondary, and Health Education in state-funded schools compulsory from this September.
The DfE has tested with teachers an approach to developing online training that will equip subject leaders with the knowledge to train their fellow teachers in an effective way and ensure teachers have the skills and knowledge to teach about Relationships, sex, and Health Education (RSHE). As part of this commitment, the DfE will be providing teachers with a single point of access to online training modules that are aligned to the subject areas specified in the statutory guidance. These training modules will be published alongside other support materials for schools such as the implementation guide, case studies and support to access resources.
The DfE is recruiting SEND experts to work with subject experts and DfE to develop training modules for the relevant topics. This will involve working with the DfE and a team of digital content developers and user researchers commissioned by the DfE to create training modules. These training modules will be aimed at equipping teachers to effectively teach the RSHE curriculum to pupils in special schools. This includes enabling teachers to teach about the key knowledge and facts about the subjects.
The deadline for applications is at 3pm on Monday 23rd March 2020 and the specification for this role can be accessed via the following link: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/d4d91171-fcdf-4bfc-9d98-f2fc5eba59e8
