Are there any LA peripatetic children’s Physical Disability educational support teams that directly employ Occupational Therapists? If there are - would you be willing to have a chat about how long you have employed OTs, how it works, what are the benefits, what are the challenges (that sort of thing).

I’d also be interested to hear from LA teams who have considered, or are considering, employing OTs and LA teams who have considered it but subsequently decided against it.

We have discussed this as part of our on-going review of service and the message we received was that an OT would struggle to maintain their professional registration if not working as part of the NHS; this would make it an unattractive role for a qualified OT, unless they were happy to use their experience to support in education and weren't worried about their medical status.

We don't in Kent but it would be really helpful e.g. For Moving and Handling Supervision, Access Works
