This was the review which was asking for submissions in June of this year. From their web page this is a recording of the committee taking evidence from 3 expert witnesses in July:  https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/e88dec3f-1a6c-407f-88df-7a062248cbee

It is chaired by Robert Halfon MP, who also attended a meeting of the APPG for Education in June.

Further update - I asked Ian Mearns MP, who is on the Select Committee, on 22nd Oct at the APPG for the Teaching Profession, about progress on the Review, and he replied that it was in its early stages.

It is now almost 4 months since the deadline for submissions passed.

The Review continues. Here is a link to an evidence roundtable held on 20th November 2018

https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/bf756e39-5aa2-42c9-86a0-df5350277f17

The video lasts for 68 minutes. There is very little specifically about the needs of CYP with PD. At the end Robert Halfon MP (chair) says it will be a long inquiry and they will next report in May or June.

This is the Committee's home page:   https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/education-committee/inquiries/parliament-2017/special-educational-needs-and-disability-inquiry-17-19/

and there is a further oral evidence session booked for next week. You can also read some of the written submissions of evidence that were sent in last June for this Review. I sent one in specifically about the needs of CYP with PD but it is not referenced on the website.

<div>My communications with Mr Halfon's team said that:</div>
<div>'Robert has now launched an inquiry on SEND as Chair of the Education Select Committee. You can read more about this here -  https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/education-committee/news-parliament-2017/special-educational-needs-and-disability-launch-17-19/ .</div>
<div>Please send any written evidence you would like to submit to educom@parliament.uk. '</div>
<div></div>
<div>I was told that in spite of the date given for submissions on the website, they will expect evidence up until the point that the report is being drafted.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Has anyone submitted evidence? I thought the questions really sought to confirm how changes in the SEN COP 2014 which made processes more person-centred, were helping families. I would like an enquiry into funding changes as well/ instead!</div>

Colleagues may be interested in the latest evidence roundtable for the ongoing SEND review held 15th Jan: https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/6cf4b394-37de-4ee3-a185-d532688fbf09
Also, the Committee is still accepting written evidence so if you wish to submit any, please use this link:
