I am supporting a year 5 pupil currently who uses eye gaze. It is a very complex area and we have lots of challenges but lots of successes too.

I work at Ace Centre which also provides the Specialised AAC Service and have worked with several pupils progressing through mainstream education who use eyegaze and AAC. I am currently working with staff to support a pupil of a similar age in this situation and we are exploring ways to record information using Clicker, but trying to get the right balance of independent work vs use of a scribe. This also means we are looking at the amount of time using eye gaze; this pupil is using it very well, but at a young age we don't want to use it all the time.
