Colleagues may be interested to view the new, government commissioned, Equality & Human Rights Commission report "Is Britain Fairer?" This is a link to the summary: https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/sites/default/files/is-britain-fairer-2018-executive-summary-pre-lay.pdf (the full report is available here: https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/sites/default/files/is-britain-fairer-2018-pre-lay.pdf ). If you search for "disabled" in these documents (395 hits in the full report) you will find conclusions reached by the Commission.
The report mentions that " Government should remove its reservations to Article 24, the right to inclusive education, of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities." Article 24 is here: https://www.un.org/development/desa/disabilities/convention-on-the-rights-of-persons-with-disabilities/article-24-education.html There is a reference to these reservations at point 136 of this document: https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/jt201415/jtselect/jtrights/144/144.pdf, which is a parliamentary report called “The UK’s compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.”
