Whizz Kidz are currently looking for wheelchair users aged 16-23 to join our Youth Board.

We would be really grateful if you could share this with any young people you know who might be interested in joining our board and share with your networks.

Who are the Youth Board and what do they do?

They share their ideas and opinions to shape and steer Whizz Kidz on what is most important to young wheelchair users, making sure that their voices, and the voices of young people from their areas, are at the heart of every decision Whizz Kidz makes.

Youth Board also work with businesses, charities, and community groups to campaign, raise awareness and make change. This is done through leading projects, speaking at events, writing blogs, giving feedback through audits and focus groups and highlighting areas for improvement.

Whizz Kidz Youth Board members will:

Participate in quarterly weekends away and monthly online meetings
Lead on projects and campaigns to make a difference for young wheelchair users
Shape Whizz Kidz and the work we do
Have the opportunity to grow their skills such as public speaking, leadership and communication
Meet and connect with other young wheelchair users

To find out more and how to apply, head to our webpage - Youth Board | Whizz Kidz

If you have any questions, please do just email Kerina on k.evans@whizz-kidz.org.uk

Young people do not need any specific experience before applying as we will provide support and training to help them feel confident in the role and feel able to take part!

It is important to us that the Youth Board is as representative of young wheelchair users as possible, so we are keen to hear from all young wheelchair users aged 16-23, especially those from under represented or disadvantaged communities.

Thank you.
