Hi all,

At Christmas time I sent out an AAC survey to be completed by as many teaching assistants / support assistants. They're a difficult group to reach but I've had a good amount of responses from people who support non-verbal children without physical disabilities.

I was hoping that some of you might be interested in taking my survey or passing it on to teaching assistants that you know so I could include data about supporting children with physical disabilities.

It's a multiple-choice online survey that takes 12 minutes to complete and will help identify training needs in schools for those who play such an important role in the development of communication aid skills.

Many thanks,

Charlie

Cant answer survey as the survey does not include nursery school children that can also use communication aids. An often forgotten area of education.

Hi Adele,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm very keen on exploring the < 5yo space, having worked in an early intervention team bringing AAC into the lives of children much earlier than the OTs and SLTs were considering. Probably the most important time for language development and actually one of the most enjoyable jobs I've had!

However - studies have to have some limitations sadly and this age range was one that was decided upon.

Many thanks,

Charlie
