Hi all

Just wondering if any fellow manual handling trainers had come up with any ways they may tackle the training need for new staff /children due to start new settings? Our service are not carrying out any face to face training for the foreseeable. I can see how we can manage refresher training over video link and sending out theory assessment but I just can't see a way round the practical. It will mean delaying some children getting back into school / transition etc...

Is anyone planning to deliver full training in September?

Many thanks

Lucy

Thank you Lucy for posing this question - our school is getting increasingly popular with families of pupils with physical difficulties and this is something I am acutely aware of. Please good people outthere - keep posting and keep us informed

Hi

As our host venue is unavailable we're planning to run a virtual Moving and Handling Course using Microsoft Teams next month for those who had booked to attend our usual training in May and July. As all participants will be working with pupils on our caseload, the practical elements of the course will be assessed and signed off once those pupils return to school.

The virtual course will consist of the background legislation / theory side of things, including videos to highlight good practice with plenty of opportunities to discuss concerns and experiences. We will send out the course booklets beforehand and the test and evaluation documents online at the end of the course.
