In Warwickshire we have a 0-5 Team. Portage workers work with children and families at home. Specialist teachers support children in settings once they are 3 years.  Referral can be made for all needs not just children with a PD.

For all children who require a handling plan who are attending a setting (0-5 years), then a preschool manual handling trainer will pick up the child, offer advice and MH training to setting staff. Parents have input into the RA we undertake and MH plans once written by us are shared with families. However we do not going into homes. If equipment and/or adaptations are required at home the OT service who we work.closely with would take on this responsibility.
