my team just advises schools and settings that they need to have a PEEP in place; we don't write it for them

<p style="text-align: left;">Likewise Louise and Jo, we advise but won't write it for the school or setting, not least because in most cases we as the LA are not the employer. The school or setting must take ownership.</p>

In York we advise Schools if they need one & provide them with a sample one & a template if they want it.  We encourage them to complete then say we are happy to take a look once completed.  The responsibility of the PEEP rests with the School or academy not us so we don't counter sign them

It's the same in Hull - advise, including relevant documentation (Means of escape...) and offer support including a pro forma.
