I know this has been explored before. Can I ask if anyone has got as far as having something (maybe the courses you offer to schools) as an accredited certificate not only for PD Specialist Teachers but for Specialist Resource Provisions that have an appointed lead?

No. Many years ago we managed a collaboration with Anglia Ruskin to run a 10 week accredited course, which was one day a week with an option to gain credits if participants completed a written assignment. However, Anglia removed their support when realised that both LSA's and teachers were attending - they couldn't offer post graduate credits to those who hadn't done a degree or were not a teacher. I would be interested if anyone in the PD Net community has.

I did a post grad in AT through the ACE centre and Manchester met but I don't think they run it anymore. And yes, undergrad needed as prerequisite.

I would be interested in finding a route into developing a PI Qualification as it seems unfair that PI Teachers don't always get the same recognition as HI and VI teachers. PI do not seem to have anyway of obtaining a QT of PI certification. Yet they are working just has hard and are just as important in my opinion.

Thanks all. I am going to be looking into this in more detail next year if anyone would be interested in brainstorming ideas possibly in term 6?
