Hello -

I have been asked for advice regarding accessing the DT machinery and cutting tools generally in product design for a young man in year 10 who had meningitis and lost his fingers, he has had reconstructive surgery and is able to use a pen/pencil. She is also very short in stature. Concerns raised were whether he can safely use the machinery while standing on a foot step - I was thinking bath steps - Does anyone know of a wider based platform that is height adjustable? The teacher is concerned about him using a craft knife/scalpel - does anyone know of any larger handled cutting equipment.

Any other advice regarding the practical element of DT/product design would be appreciated.

Thank you

Jane
