I was wondering if anyone had an anonymous risk assessment for a young person with a tracheostomy in a primary school that they would be willing to share with me please?
We (the specialist teachers) don't write risk assessments for schools in Essex. Could it be built into the child's daily health care plan with guidance from the community nursing team? Have you got the DfE guidance? https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/supporting-pupils-at-school-with-medical-conditions--3
We don't write them either Jo, I'm supporting a school and they are putting one together. It would be useful to see what other people had in place. I have the DfE guidance already, thank you 🙂
The Council for Disabled Children has a publication"Dignity & Inclusion", which I find really helpful and includes exemplar risk assessments and guidance: https://www.jkp.com/uk/dignity-inclusion-3.html
Hi All,
I had a child with tracheostomy and risk was part of the care plan I think. Perhaps community nurse could help?
