Hi All,

A pupil I am working with, who does not have the ability to write, would like to take her GCSE French exam. JCQ have said she would need to spell out every word to a scribe as the 'reasonable adjustment'. Does any one have any experience of how pupils have accessed the MFL exams in this situation? What are people's feelings about this being a reasonable adjustment?

It may vary by exam board. I spoke to someone there who suggested a student could use a scribe without needing to spell every word.

As a general point, it is extremely helpful if subject teachers in schools who know they will have students with access requirements, check this out with exam boards and JCQ before they choose which specification to teach.
