In Warwickshire both the Specialist preschool manual handlers and PD Team offer Manual Handling Training to settings and schools with a child with PD requiring a MH Plan. We too like Dudley are all trained using Edge Services.
I'm from Manchester and would like to ask the same question of colleagues in the North. We had a really interesting discussion about this with some of our northern colleagues at the last Pdnet north meeting and word be interested in hearing from other colleagues who did not attend the meeting. I am currently involved in a project looking at the issues around manual handling for our mainstream schools. Many thanks.
In Lancashire, our specialist PD teachers offer Moving and Handling training to schools and settings. We are a Traded service and have to charge schools for this. We use Solutions Training as our train the trainer.
Many thanks Lynn.
Nottinghamshire schools access training from the physical disability specialist service (PDSS) commissioned by the local authority.
Training is £200 per person for the 2 day Foundation level training, followed by a charge of £100 per person for annual 1 day Refresher training.
Their trainers are trained to IOSH level by HME Training (see comment from Hillary above ☺)
