Hi everyone, I am creating a bank of National PI services teams.

In our role we often find children/young people moving between areas/Local Authorities and I felt it would be beneficial to know where and which areas do have PI teams or equivalent. If you are happy to please share where you are from and how you support PI within your area.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Melanie

Please can I ask about the context in which you are working ? I am chair of the London and South East group of pdnet and will bring your post to folks attention but I need to know more first.

Thanks for commenting Sonia.

I am part of the 'Sensory and Physical Support Services in Derbyshire' We are made up of PI, VI and HI teachers. I am an Advisory PI teacher in the team. We support from birth to 16 in settings to support educational needs, we also make home visits if necessary. My role is working with children that live in Derbyshire but might attend at setting in another county. This means I am often liaising with other PI specialists. I am find that there are less and less of us about 🙁 . We also have children on caseload that can move in to other areas so we are then making links for transition.

I hope this all makes sense. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi

We have a PD team as part of the Integrated Physical and Sensory Service in Hull (with HI and VI teams). The service works from 0-25 and supports children from other counties (East Riding and North Lincolnshire) in Hull settings.

Hello Melanie,

In Warwickshire our Integrated Disability Service 0 - 5 Team supports children with PD in mainstream preschool settings.  Our specialist teachers in the IDS Complex Needs and Physical Disability team take over at transition to mainstream school and support through to Post 16.
