Last Wednesday, 27 June, saw the launch in London of the above, which is a national resource aimed at governing bodies enabling them to systematically audit SEND provision in their school and develop plans to improve this where necessary. There was powerful first-hand testimony from two parents of children with various diagnoses (PD in one case), who had become governors and were instrumental in driving forward the level and quality of provision in their children's respective schools. Both of these colleagues now have a national remit in this respect.
All the information, and the Review document itself is here: https://sendgov.co.uk/
The Driver Youth Trust, who lead on this project, and have DfE funding for this, are keen that as many governing bodies as possible carry out this review; pdnet colleagues may therefore be able to bring this to the attention of the appropriate person in schools when visiting. It may well be that a school using the PD National Standards would find it particularly helpful to do both.
