Hi all

I am PD Coordinator at a Mainstream (ARP) School.  I am looking in to options of delivering an entry level qualification in PE / sports.  Does anybody have any experience of this?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Natalie.  This doesn't answer your question directly but may contain further sources of support:

Good luck!

Hi Natalie

Yes I used to deliver a BTEC Certificate in Sport & Active Leisure to a spot 16 group, very successfully. We used to do one module called 'Taking Part in Sport' or something like that and another called 'Improving our own fitness'.

Checkout Pearsons Entry level qualifications for details

Hi

I recommend you have a look at the AQA Unit Award Scheme (www.aqa.org.uk/programmes/unit-award-scheme) - this has a large number of 'units' (basically schemes of work) at pre-entry and entry level within the sports/PE area. Your school may already be a registered centre; if not there is a charge for training and a cost for each registered pupil. In the unlikely event that you can't find units that are suitable, you can also write your own. The certificates are very valued by the pupils and provide the opportunity of developing a portfolio of achievements that they are very proud of and show prospective FE colleges or employers what they have learned and achieved
