In Leicester City they are prioritizing special school staff who work with or are most likely to work with CEV learners.

Hi, I am a 1:1 teaching assistant for 2 children 1 with PD and medical, the other just medical. And when I asked about it, was told because we are mainstream it means no to the vaccine until all.school is vaccinated. Yet social distance isn't maintained due to personal care, and even parent was asking if I'm having it to protect the child. Still school said no, as their hands are tied from above ie government.

Hi All, I am a PD Resource Provision Base Leader at a secondary mainstream school, luckily we have some very good paediatricians who wrote letters to our GP surgeries to outline what our roles are and how vulnerable our students are. This moved us up a criteria and we have now all been vaccinated. It may be worth seeing if any of the external professionals may be willing to do the same if you are having any troubles getting this. I know we struggled at first as on paper, the team are Teaching Assistants however the role is more of a care role so explain this to your GP surgeries also.
