Hi Lucy....we in Derbyshire are similar to Kim in Dudley as when it is a prescribed block... it is all on health and parents although schools would allow children to miss school as if for a medical appointment.
However, should the child be due to attend curricular swimming in the local pool with their class and we are not able to access we may offer some sessions in the nearest special school with hydropool....this is then all on the mainstream school to fund transport and staff and it would be as Amanda says 'just swimming in warmer water with better access'.
