Does anyone have any good ideas for seating in secondary school for a Young person in year 9 who is about 95cm tall. Currently we have a set of Trip Trap chairs and Breezi chairs set up to be used but as the young person is getting older they do not want to use the chairs. We are looking for some thing more like a general school chair with a foot rest. We also need higher chairs for the Science Labs and D and T.
Fenland Metal Furniture do a range of chairs for children/adults with small stature. As a service we have in the past bought the Kestral chairs and they also do a bigger one Falcon chair. Also there is a chair called the Tomcat Science chairs from the company of the same name which is a chair specifically for science, which is very stable with steps up.
Tom Cats chairs are good - they look like typist chairs so are more acceptable by older students
Hi Sarah,
We talked about this Kaboost for a CYP (See link: https://www.kaboost.com/ ) , but her Dad adapted a classroom chair by welding extended legs onto it! It worked brilliantly. I also had one school where the DT department made a bespoke footrest to fit a Science chair - it has a large wooden plate and slides underneath the chair, and fits perfectly.

I've got a similar situation. we are getting a Vela Tango for the higher tables (science, DT etc) but this child needs his feet and back supported and so needs something for the standard classrooms too that is cost effective. The once chair won't be enough to cover the whole site. Does anyone know how much the Kestrel chairs from Fenland come in at? thanks
